17”x11” B&W Fine Art Edition Printed on White 80 Lb Paper Cover Stock

This is a reproduction of the original artwork Wm Conrad Bowen created with a graphite pencil on a 18” x 22” sheet of drawing paper.

This is the first of four interpretive images Conrad created from a 29.5” x 37.5” oil painting on wood-panel of the same name by Bronzino c, 1550 which hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Conrad’s four images came as an assignment from Marion Hyde while studying at Utah State University in the mid-1970s to create four interpretation's of an existing piece of art by a historical artist in four different mediums. The mediums Conrad chose were: 1. graphite pencil on drawing paper (this image), 2. gouache paint on illustration board, 3. black pen, colored pencil & acrylic wash on illustration board, and 4. oil paint on stretched canvas — reproductions of each are available from this website.

To purchase a custom sized giclee print on heavy paper of Conrad’s interpretation of "Portrait of a Young Man” #1” please contact customerservice@1to1greetings.com and describe your request. Please include your name & contact information. Thank you!
